Kamal Haasan shares new look, daughter Shruti Haasan cheers for ‘appa dearest’

Veteran actor and producer Kamal Haasan has revealed a fresh new look for his upcoming film project, sparking excitement among his fans and a heartfelt reaction from his daughter, Shruti Haasan. The reveal was made by Haasan’s production house, Raaj Kamal Films International, through a post on the social media platform X.
The image shows Kamal Haasan in a grey oversized hoodie, with slicked back salt-and-pepper hair and an extended goatee. The caption accompanying the photo read, “New journey with a new look #JourneyBegins. #Ulaganayagan #KamalHaasan @ikamalhaasan.”
Shruti Haasan, who is also an established actress, expressed her delight at her father’s transformation. Sharing the post on her own X account, she added, “Appa dearest” with pink heart and evil eye emojis, followed by a sunglasses emoji, signalling her approval of the look.
Fans of the legendary actor were quick to shower their admiration, with comments like “Aandavar new look! (sic)” and “What a look! (sic)” filling the post’s replies. However, many also speculated about which project this new look might be for, with some suggesting it could be for Haasan’s highly anticipated 237th film. Earlier this year, it was announced that the Anbariv brothers, celebrated for their work on KGF 2 and recent recipients of a National Award, would direct the project.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan has recently wrapped up filming for Thug Life, a gangster drama directed by Mani Ratnam. The film boasts an impressive cast, including Silambarasan, Joju George, and Ali Fazal, with music composed by AR Rahman. The completion of Thug Life was shared on X, accompanied by a behind-the-scenes video capturing key moments from the production.
